“Hands… washing hands”: Neil Diamond gives Coronavirus advice while playing ‘Sweet Caroline’ in his house : “Reaching out, don’t touch me, I won’t touch you”

For those of you that attended my recent 61st. Birthday Party, and met my friend Steve’s 8 year old daughter: Caroline – you remember that I announced that she was named after Neil Diamond’s hit song: “Sweet Caroline” – and some of you even sang a few of the words to “Sweet Caroline” right there at the party ! Thanks for doing that – your great enthusiasm, positivity and good powerful words was put out there- and must have reached Neil Diamond– since in a very short time after you sang- he started to write the words to this song! Neil lives not too far from where the party was held. So I think that Neil heard us all singing, and wrote a new version of his epic song as a PSA for the Coronavirus -to tell us all to wash our hands!

Neil Diamond is a regular customer of my friend Steve’s Carvel Ice Cream store on Santa Monica Blvd.- just 2 blocks east of the 405 Freeway in West LA. Neil loves Carvel Ice Cream, and has Sang “Sweet Caroline” to little Caroline before- which was a great honor for Steve’s whole family! Many other celebrities go into my friend Steve’s Carvel Ice Cream store all the time, and they all love it! Michael Bolton is one of those stars that is a regular at my friend’s Carvel Store- and we just saw him in concert exactly 3 weeks to the day – after my Birthday Party at Harrah’s Casino Resort So. Cal.

We like to dedicate this news story and song performed now by Neil Diamond to all of you that sang “Sweet Caroline” at my Birthday Party, to all at that party, our viewer’s, to Steve, his wife Karen, his other daughter Sarah, and of course most importantly to little “Sweet” Caroline !

Neil Diamond has performed a new version of ‘Sweet Caroline’ from his home, in which he gives fans informative advice about fighting coronavirus.

By changing the lyrics of his classic song, Diamond has become the latest musician to adapt their work to fit the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic.

Performing in front of the fire at home along with his dog, Diamond begins: “I know we’re going through a rough time right now, but I love you, and I think maybe if we sing together we might feel a little bit better.”

He then sings a version of ‘Sweet Caroline’, which featured the adapted lyrics: “Hands, washing hands, reaching out, don’t touch me, I won’t touch you.”
