It was a pleasant, and very beautiful summer night at the Dive pool at Harrah’s Resort SoCal, just North of San Diego, California, where Hawaiian Singer: Anuhea gave an unforgettable concert, poolside under the stars at the Dive. It was a great 2 hour long concert, where special guests: The PRBLM and DJ Scotty Doo opened up the show: and then again came back to perform with the star of the concert: Anuhea, towards the end of the concert: Rylee Anuheakeʻalaokalokelani Jenkins, who performs under the stage name Anuhea: is a Hawaiian singer-songwriter who blends reggae, pop, R&B, rap, and country into her music.  Among her biggest musical influences are R&B artist Alicia Keys, neo soul artist India. Arie, Hawaiian music icon Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and reggae superstar Bob Marley.  Anuhea has won multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, Hawaii’s version of the Grammys, and the 2019 iHeart Radio Island Music Award for Female Artist of the Year. She’s also an advocate for mental health and education.  Anuhea is of mixed ethnic descent, including Hawaiian, Chinese, German, Welsh, and Native American roots, and was raised in Makawao, Maui, Hawaii. Her father is native to Oahu, Hawaii, and her mother is from Oregon.  She embraces a multi-ethnic background common in modern island culture. Her Middle/Hawaiian Name: Anuheakeʻalaokalokelani was given by her great-grandmother, meaning “the cool fragrance of the heavenly rose.”

After the concert, there was a VIP Meet & Greet where me and my friend Ken were lucky enough to be invited to attend! Anuhea was so nice to pose for pictures with both of us! I am on the right of the photo- wearing the Elvis Shirt, with Ken on the left:

During the Meet & Greet, when I asked her how to pronounce her name, she said it had 4 syllables: Anuhea is pronounced ah-noo-HAY-ah (/ˌɑːnuˈheɪə/) or ah-noo-heh-ah. Each vowel is sounded out clearly in the traditional Hawaiian style.

Ken was able to have her autograph her top selling Record Album, and sign my ticket, as you can see in the above and below photos:

We, and all of the audience had a fun time, and really enjoyed her beautiful, and soothing voice, and with Anuhea being Hawaii, with the stage built right by the pool in Harrah’s Resort pool area, with it’s Palm trees, beautiful lush landscaping, 3 pools, caves, waterfalls, Tiki Hut style Bar:

and Jacuzzi’s, we felt like we were in a tropical Island paradise in Hawaii!

On this 26 minute show you will see this great concert, with an excellent performance by the lovely and talented Anuhea, that was filmed dead center only 2 feet in front of the stage! Anhea tells some interesting stories. You can see clips of each song.

In 1988, unable to sleep, IZ called a local Honolulu recording studio in the middle of the night. He arrived with his ukulele and recorded a medley of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World” in a single, unpolished take.
