Live from Beverly Hills at the luxurious Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel, for the 18th annual Go Gala fundraising campaign for helping children from around the world. We were greeted on the 9th floor outdoor rooftop pool area for cocktails and appetizers. The first thing I was offered when I checked in to get my tickets, and walked through the doors on the 9th floor rooftop was filet mignon and champagne, that I shared with my friend Bernie Hiller (on the right):
Then, as you can see in the photos- I and my friend Event Producer: Bernie Hiller walked on the Black “red” carpet:
and Bernie was recognized by the press, and so we both posed for photos, and Bernie was interviewed by the Go campaign TV show:
Then on this beautiful evening the weather was perfect, as we went down to the 3rd floor outdoor balcony area for a sumptuous gourmet dinner show where they honored Actors: Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac: the Founders of the Wrexham AFC Foundation for their dedication to enriching the lives of children and youth around the world, with sports.
At the dinner I was able to meet and get photos with the award-winning actress Kristen Bell who you may recognize from the NBC hit comedy TV Show: “The Good Place” that she co-starred in with Ted Danson.
Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress, producer, singer, comedian, and screenwriter who has worked in both film and television. She’s known for her roles in Frozen, Bad Moms, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and The Good Place. Bell has won a Children’s and Family Emmy Award and has been nominated for two Golden Globes, two Critics’ Choice Television Awards, a Daytime Emmy, a Primetime Emmy, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2025, Time included her in their selection of the 100 most influential people in the world! She was so kind to pose with me during the dinner show:
She had her breakout performance as the title character in the television series Veronica Mars (2004–2007), a role she reprised in the 2014 spin-off film and the 2019 revival. She also starred as Elle Bishop in the superhero drama series Heroes (2007–2008), voiced the titular narrator in the teen drama series Gossip Girl (2007–2012) and its 2021 standalone sequel, and starred in the Showtime comedy series House of Lies (2012–2016). She received nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her leading roles in the NBC comedy series The Good Place (2016–2020) and the Netflix romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This (2024); the latter also earned her a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
& Bringing you up to date: Season 2 of Nobody Wants This, the rom-com featuring Kristen Bell as an agnostic sex podcaster and Adam Brody as a laid-back rabbi, is on Netflix. It has become one of, if not the most anticipated, releases this fall!

As you can see in the photo, Kristen heated up the red carpet in a sexy, green backless outfit, but we are sure that her husband Dax Shepard approved of it! We sure did!
On the red carpet I met and posed for a photo with actor Danny DeVito who you would recognize as Louie DePalma on the hit TV comedy show: “Taxi”. DeVito is known for his film roles in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), Terms of Endearment (1983), Head Office (1985), Ruthless People (1986), Throw Momma from the Train (1987), Twins (1988), The War of the Roses (1989), Batman Returns (1992), Jack the Bear (1993), Junior (1994), Matilda (1996), L.A. Confidential (1997), The Big Kahuna (1999), Big Fish (2003), Deck the Halls (2006), When in Rome (2010), Wiener-Dog (2016) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). He has voiced roles in such films as Hercules (1997), The Lorax (2012), Smallfoot (2018) and Migration (2023). During the cocktail hour up on the 9th floor rooftop, Danny was nice enough to pose for a photo with me, right after he was done going his interview on the red carpet:

Photo By: It was a wonderful and fun evening, with many good people that we meet, who were all there for a very worthy cause. It was a magical evening celebrating GO Campaign’s transformational impact on the lives of vulnerable children in the U.S. and abroad, that raised over 1 million dollars for this very worthy cause!
We meet the community of ‘go givers’ (Local Heroes and donors) as well as supporters from the entertainment and local business communities. Additionally, GO honored Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac for their work with the Wrexham AFC Foundation, and their celebrity friends and supporters were in attendance. Everyone there was able to learn about GO Campaign’s impact and vision for the next 20 years. With nonprofit funding on the decline, particularly those supporting undervalued and under-resourced populations, GO’s work is more important than ever.
Go supports grassroots solutions led by local leaders who understand their communities best, funding projects that expand access to education, healthcare, shelter, safety, and opportunity. With your support, the’re helping these leaders transform lives and create a brighter future for children worldwide. As you can see in the above photo, The Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel is a beautiful, high class, and luxurious hotel in the heart of Beverly Hills, and even their long spiral staircase has Penguins that were sliding down the side! The Go Campaign Team was so kind as to send me this Thank You letter today:
“Dear Steve,
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
We are still floating on the incredible energy of our GO Gala this past Friday night. The Maybourne Beverly Hills truly felt like a home, filled with community, celebration, and an electric sense of purpose that you helped create simply by being there.
More than just a beautiful evening, the Gala was a powerful act of collective compassion. Because of your generosity, we raised over $1 million to support vulnerable children across the globe. That is a first for us!
We heard honoree Rob Mac remind us that children are not “data points to bandy about,” but individuals with names, hopes, and dreams. And that is what your support protects.
You are the thread connecting a child’s urgent need to a dedicated Local Hero—a Hero
Your belief in the work of GO Campaign allows us to keep finding, funding, and sustaining such life-saving projects. Thank you for making a lasting difference that truly transforms lives from the ground up.
With gratitude,
The GO Campaign Team”
