Last night Jane Fonda and Harrison Ford honored with SOC Awards

Last night Jane Fonda and Harrison Ford were both honored with The Society of Camera Operators (SOC) Lifetime Achievement Awards, at Loews Hollywood Hotel.

Jane Fonda won the Governors Award, and below Jane with her then husband Ted Turner at The 1992 Emmy Awards , when I meet then both at the Governors’ Ball after-party in Pasadena, California:

Harrison Ford won the President’s Award. He is a Film Icon, and showbiz legend, and is best known for his starring roles as Han Solo in the Star Wars film series, and as the title character of the Indiana Jones film series. Five of his movies are within the 30 top-grossing movies of all time. I spoke to him about The American Icon Awards coming up on May 19th, about honoring another Film Icon: Al Pacino – we all hope he will be able to make it. Al Pacino was asking if he can introduce him up on stage and show some of his movie clips. Here is Mr. Ford with me in the VIP invite only after-party at Preston’s Loews Hollywood Hotel, and below that with Belinda enjoying this great after-party :

George Billinger III, SOC President said: “We are honored to be presenting these awards to such legends in the entertainment industry. Their work has inspired so many of us and we are grateful for their extraordinary contributions to the business and creative community at large.”

The award for camera operator of the year for TV was shared by Chris Haarhoff and Steven Matzinger for Westworld, and this year’s lifetime achievement award recipients were Dave Emmerichs, camera operator; Hector Ramirez, camera operator (live and non-scripted); Jimmy Jensen, camera technician; John Man, mobile camera platform operator, and Peter Iovino, still photographer, and the makers of the Cinemoves Matrix 4 axis stabilized gimbal were honored with a technical achievement award, and P.
