Tash – a standout emcee of legendary ‘90s west coast hip-hop group Tha Alkaholiks – serves up an incisively witty critique of society’s obsession with social media in the music video for “Attention is a Drug (Remix), featuring an all-star lineup of hip-hop luminaries including: Xzibit, King T, J-Ro and E-Swift of Tha Alkaholiks, Defari, King Tech, will.i.am, and Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest), Sway Calloway, and of course: Tash.
The lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas: will.i.am is the Co-Director and has a important role in this documentary. The Black Eyed Peas won the Grammy Award for “I Gotta Feeling ” for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, which was the first song in digital history to sell over 7 million digital copies in the United States, and holds the record as the most downloaded song on iTunes of all time! This also makes it the highest selling digital as well as non-charity single in the US ever, making them one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time!
During The Q & A – right after all the movies premiered, will.i.am said that he now teaches music production and new technology at Arizona State University, and now serves as a professor of practice at Arizona State University (ASU). He teaches an undergraduate course focused on artificial intelligence called “The Agentic Self”.
