“Frampton” – The Peter Frampton Life Story, Documentary West Coast Premier at The 29th Dances With Films – Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, was a big success, with some of the legends of Rock making appearances in this film to talk about the legendary musician: Peter Frampton, and his incredible music career. It is a Star-Studded film with Interviews, and features commentary from a wide range of musical legends and industry figures, including Ringo Starr, Sheryl Crow, Tom Morello, Bill Wyman, Alice Cooper, Roger Daltrey, Nancy Wilson, Cameron Crowe, Chris Lord Algae, Julian Frampton, Jade Frampton, Kate Hudson, Herb Alpert, Tom Morello, and Matt Pinfield!
In this fascinating Documentary, it tells all about the life of Peter Kenneth Frampton, who is an English singer, guitarist, and songwriter who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s as a solo artist and member of the bands Humble Pie and The Herd, and much later on with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band (1997 – 1998). I saw this same band perform in San Diego- at the Scenic Humphreys By Bay Concerts, but about 24 years later. 
The highly anticipated documentary Frampton is a feature-length film that made its world premiere on June 4th at the 2026 Tribeca Festival in New York City. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of his iconic Frampton Comes Alive! record while documenting his incredible career resilience. Directed by Peter Frampton’s longtime bandleader and keyboardist, Rob Arthur, the film is a 104-minute intimate portrait of the rock icon. It traces his meteoric rise to fame in the 1970s, to global rock & roll fame, subsequent career struggles, struggles that tested his identity and resilience, his resilient return to the stage, and his relentless reinvention. As personal sacrifices surface, the cost of fame becomes clear. The documentary blends never-before-seen childhood and early career clips with live performances and the creation of his studio album Carry The Light. 
My highlight of this film was when they talked about the year 1976: “Frampton Comes Alive!” is a multi-platinum double live album by the English musician and songwriter Peter Frampton, released in 1976 by A&M Records, that was a breakthrough for Peter and is one of the best-selling live albums ever! “Show Me the Way”, “Baby, I Love Your Way”, and “Do You Feel Like We Do” were released as singles; all three reached the top 10 in Canada and the top 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and frequently receive airplay on classic rock radio stations. Released on 15 January 1976, Frampton Comes Alive! debuted on the charts at No. 191. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 the week ending 10 April 1976, spending 10 non-consecutive weeks in the top spot through October. It was the best-selling album of 1976 and has sold over 8 million copies in the United States! Frampton Comes Alive! was voted “Album of the Year” in a 1976 Rolling Stone readers’ poll. It stayed on the chart for 97 weeks and was still No. 14 on Billboard‘s 1977 year-end album chart. It was ranked No. 41 on Rolling Stone‘s “50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time” list. Readers of Rolling Stone ranked it No. 3 in a 2012 poll of all-time favorite live albums. In 2020, Frampton Comes Alive! was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Frampton Comes Alive! became one of the best-selling live albums of all time because it combined a highly anticipated “greatest hits” package with the raw energy of a phenomenal live band. Released in 1976, it perfectly captured the cultural shift toward melodic rock and served as the definitive party soundtrack for millions of listeners.
A massive driver of the album’s popularity was his pioneering use of the talk box. By routing his guitar signal through a plastic tube into his mouth, he was able to make his Gibson Les Paul “sing” words on tracks like “Show Me the Way”. This mesmerizing, futuristic effect became a massive selling point and a signature musical marvel of the mid-70s. Released in early 1976, the album hit the market at the ideal cultural moment. America was relaxing and looking for good-natured escapism after the turbulence of the Vietnam War and the Watergate scandal. The album bridged the gap between the heavier rock of the early 70s and the pop-driven rock of the 80s, making it the perfect, ubiquitous soundtrack for the summer party scene. Furthermore, its iconic cover photo cemented Peter Frampton as a major teen idol.
My 2nd favorite part of this documentary film is when the current 76 year old Peter, sings with his guitar, the Rock & Roll legend: Buddy Holly’s classic hit “Peggy Sue,” that he performed so well- just as good or better than Buddy Holly, even at his older age, and even having Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), a rare, progressive, and incurable neuromuscular disease, that is an inflammatory muscle-wasting condition that causes gradual atrophy and weakness in the arms, legs, and fingers, that he confronts his limits with urgency and grace.
After watching this film, it reminded me that over 40 years ago, I owned a record store, and I sold this album, and in the front of my store I had a life-size hard back poster of Peter than the girls swooned over!
I was somehow able to see 2 other great films on this same night, as there are always so many great films to see at the Dances With Films – Film Festivals!

Smith, Stephanie McNulty, Lindsey Shaw, Elissa Kapneck, David DeLuise, who you can see in the below photos, along with all the other actors, and key people of the movie, that I took during the Q & A, after I watched this heartwarming movie: 
This film follows a homeless man on the streets of LA whose life is transformed, and finds the motivation to turn his life around after a stray dog saves his life, and this amazing dog refuses to leave his side! The story focuses on the raw and often messy realities of homelessness and animal welfare, highlighting the redemptive power of community, friendship, and love. 
Tyler (D.J. Hale) once had a promising life, a business, and someone who loved him. Then bad decisions and eventually addiction took it all away, and now he’s living on the streets of Long Beach, scraping by on cans and cigarettes. He’s clean and sober, but that’s about the only thing he has going for him. One night, Tyler is attacked beneath an overpass, and he’s saved by a stray Doberman who refuses to leave his side, no matter how hard Tyler tries to shoo him away. He names the dog Angel- who you can see in the above photo.
The problem with having a dog when you’re homeless is that dogs need things — not the least of which is food. Tyler shows up at a local grooming salon, hoping to find a leash and some food, with no money and no idea how to pay. The manager, Scarlett (Lindsey Shaw), could easily throw him out. Instead, she makes a deal: Tyler helps clean up around the shop while the dogs are being groomed, and she’ll feed Angel twice a day and let him sleep near the store. It’s not much, but it’s something. The plan goes well until Angel starts getting sick. When Angel starts throwing up and won’t stop, Tyler is desperate. Scarlett steps in and takes them both to a vet, where they learn Angel has cancer — treatable, but the treatments aren’t cheap. Wanting to help, Scarlett offers to hire Tyler, a decision that could put her own job at risk. Her boss Kirby (David DeLuise) isn’t making it any easier. What started as a man and his dog trying to survive has suddenly gotten really complicated — and Tyler has to decide if he’s willing to fight for Angel…and himself, for that matter. 
During the Q & A- D.J. Hale told the audience how: while driving for Uber and Lyft to keep his family afloat, he picked up a homeless man and gave him a ride to a shelter — and that simple act of kindness had a profound effect on him. It made him think about how easy it is to drive past people without seeing them. That moment became the seed of Rescued, a film built around the idea that homelessness isn’t someone else’s problem to solve. He built the film around the bond between Tyler and Angel, since the dog doesn’t know Tyler is homeless. Angel just shows up and stays. For Hale, that’s the point — that sometimes the simplest act of loyalty is what pulls a person back from the edge. You can see D.J. 3rd from the right, in red cloths, holding the Mic: 
I was really touched when the owner- played by David DeLuise of this real life pet care store in Long Beach, California was going to throw out this poor homeless man, and his dog, but all the employees stood up for the homeless man, to try and work things out with the owner of the store, who didn’t want to risk losing his store, since he would be breaking so many laws, and health & safety regulations, by allowing an undocumented homeless person, and his dog to sleep at his store. This movie makes a great point to not just talk about helping the homeless, but actually do something about it! This movie is so heartfelt and moving, and made me feel so good about all the love and kindness that I was able to see in these people, and also made me feel very good!
This movie got me to thinking about my own life, to way back many years ago before I was a TV Producer, when I was the owner of a business with an office, where I had a homeless man that was down on his luck, with no family or friends to help him out. So, I gave him a job, and allowed him to sleep in my office, and also took him out for meals.
Then, as I started to gradually remember more, and thought about it – I actually gave all this same kind of help to 12 different people over the course of my life! 6 of these people were married couples, of a man and a women, and 3 of the men- by amazing coincidence were all named “Bill” ! I of course will not give out the last names, to protect the innocent, but I am so happy that I was in a position at those times of my life, to help them out, so that the majority of them were able to improve their lives, and get back on their feet again, and be a better part of society! So watching this movie gave me a good warm feeling in my heart, that I did a few “good deeds” to help people out- just like in this movie, so as the old expression says: “I am not such a bad guy after all!”
The 3rd movie from this night that was able to review for you is the 72 minute WORLD Premiere of the The 2026 psychological thriller: “Fractured,” that Mädchen Amick makes her feature film directorial debut with.
This movie is based on a true story, and stars acting legends: Bruce Dern, Julia Ormond, and Elissa Shay, and is Produced by: Iris Torres, Penny Edmiston, and Chelsey Neders, and Written by: Elissa Shay & Cary Haze.
Based on actual events in the writer’s life, the story follows a young, trauma-scarred nurse named Hayley who is forced to confront childhood memories of her father’s death when her ex-boyfriend suddenly returns. This Star-studded Cast is as below:

This was an emotional mystery as to what may happen next to Hayley- so I can’t spoil the story for you by talking further about it- so it is safe to say that you will be on the edge of your seat!
Our Entertainment Today TV Show Host: Margie Rey had interviewed Bruce Dern before on our show: He is an American actor and two-time Oscar nominee. Born in Chicago in 1936, Dern has worked with directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Elia Kazan, and Quentin Tarantino. Hitchcock was such a fan that he cast Dern in both Marnie and Family Plot. I (Steve Taylor) was lucky enough to ride together in the same limousine with Julia Ormond, when we both attended the Academy Awards at the Shrine Auditorium! Julia was so nice to give my and my date- the beautiful: Miarella Billen, who flew in from Belgium for the Oscars, a ride in her own personal limo, from the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, since Miarella’s father had already left in his limo, since Miarella was not yet ready to go. So for me to spend the night at the Oscars, meeting all the Oscar Winners, going to the dinner after-party: the Governors Ball, and dancing the night away with these 2 beautiful and friendly women: Julia Ormond & Miarella, was an incredible experience that I will always remember!
This was during: Legends of the Fall (1994), and Sabrina (1995) when both movies were both nominated for a few Academy Awards! & Then, about 2 years after the Oscars, at the Golden Globe Awards, I was leaving The Sony Party on the 3rd floor of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and then when I decided to go back to the party- security would not let me back in since it was late and they were closing down the party, so when my friend Daryl who saw the trouble I was having- asked me “Should I go get Julia to help get you in?” I thought he was joking, but I said yes, and then Daryl walked all the way to the back of the party to tell Julia Ormond: “Steve needs your help- security will not let him back in” – so then the World Famous Actress: Julia Ormond, whose movie “Sabrina” that she stared in as Sabrina, with her Co-Star: Harrison Ford- happened to be airing everyday on Cable TV- so then she walked all the way to the front of the Sony Party by the heavily secured front entrance, and told the security guards: “He is with me- let him in” but security refused and said the party is now closed, so I said: “don’t you recognize who that is? it’s Julia Ormond!” but security still refused to let me in, so then amazingly Julia just waved her hand at the security guards in disgust, and grabbed me by my hand, pushed the barricade over, and pulled me back into the party!
