Colin Hanks– who won the Award for Outstanding Producer of Televised or Streamed Motion Pictures for “John Candy: I Like Me” , and whose father is the Oscar winning Actor: Tom Hanks; Mandi Prince – who won the Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television – Comedy- for “The Studio;” and one of the greatest Producers of all time, and Margie’s favorite: Jerry Bruckheimer!Jerry was nominated for: Award for Outstanding Producer of Game & Competition Television for “The Amazing Race”. Margie up on the Producers Guild Awards stage:
Jerome Leonard Bruckheimer is an American film and television producer. He has been active in the genres of action, drama, comedy, fantasy, horror and science fiction. After working in advertising out of college, he moved into film production in the 1970s. He has produced films including Flashdance, Days of Thunder, The Rock, Crimson Tide, Dangerous Minds, Con Air, Armageddon, Enemy of the State, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, as well as the Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Bad Boys, Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure franchises. In the below photo: Jerry Bruckheimer (center) with Johnny Depp (left) and Tom Cruise (right) in June 2013:
At the helm of his self-titled production company, he has produced films that have been produced in association with and distributed by numerous film studios such as Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures and Disney, while his television works have been co-produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. In July 2003, Bruckheimer was honored by Variety as the first in Hollywood history to produce the first and second highest-grossing films of a single weekend: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Bad Boys II. In 2023, Top Gun: Maverick earned him his first nomination for Best Picture at the 95th Academy Awards. He was nominated again in the same category thanks to F1 starring Brad Pitt (2025).
His best known television series are television dramas CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: Cyber, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Lucifer and reality competition series The Amazing Race, which would spawn a franchise with international versions. For the latter, he won ten Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2003, three of his television productions—CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without a Trace and CSI: Miami—ranked among the top ten in the US ratings, making him the first producer to achieve this. He is also the co-founder (with David Bonderman) and majority owner of the Seattle Kraken, the 2021 expansion team of the National Hockey League.
Jerry Bruckheimer was nominated for a 2026 Producers Guild of America (PGA) Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures for his work on the film F1. He attended the 2026 PGA Awards as a nominee for this racing drama, which he produced alongside Joseph Kosinski, Brad Pitt, and others. He also once won the David O. Selznick Award for Lifetime Achievement by the Producers Guild of America.
Margie and I were very fortunate to meet and talk to the Superstar Actress: Emma Stone who was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Bugonia at the 2026 BAFTAs. She was also a producer on the film, which was nominated for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award! Emma was effortlessly chic wearing a sleeveless, white satin gown that clung to her figure and fell down to brush the floor. Intricate embellishments were added around the neckline and upper portion of the outfit for a unique flare. Emma is on the right, with Margie on the left:
Her locks were parted in the middle and pulled back into a sleek up do, allowing a few loose strands to border the sides of her face, and her makeup was glammed up for the evening and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a warm blush to her cheekbones. For a finishing touch, the Oscar winner also added a peach-colored satin tint to her lips. Emma is on the left, with Steve on the right:
She opted for minimal accessories to allow her look to be the main focal point, and added a pair of mini earrings. Her latest film Bugonia (2025) notably garnered a PGA nomination for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.
The Producers Guild of America (PGA) had an amazing star-studded lineup of presenters, nominees and special guests, along with some of the biggest names in Hollywood that took the stage throughout the evening to spotlight this year’s top producing talent, including: Emma Stone, Josh Safdie, Paul Thomas Anderson, Timothée Chalamet, Amy Madigan, Adam Scott, Chloé Zhao, Claire Danes, Delroy Lindo, Elle Fanning, Emily V Gordon, Greta Gerwig, Ike Barinholtz, Jacob Elordi, Jason Ritter- who Margie interviewed on this show, Jessie Buckley, Joachim Trier, Kate Hudson, Kerry Condon, Kumail Nanjiani, Lisa Gilroy, Mariska Hargitay, Michael Keaton, Odessa A’zion, Paul Mescal, Ralph Farquhar, Regina Hall, Seth Rogen, Teyana Taylor, Thomas Lennon, Vinny Thomas, Wagner Moura, William H. Macy, and Wumni Mosaku!
Jason was honored for redefining modern horror and for his success in building Blumhouse into a dominant independent studio, known for franchises like Halloween, Paranormal Activity, The Black Phone, and Five Nights at Freddy’s. He is on the left of the below photo:
In his speech, Jason reflected on his journey from a struggling independent producer to a industry leader. The honor was introduced by Barry Diller.
^and Delroy Lindo: who we were lucky enough to meet, as you can see in the above photo on the right with Steve, and in the below photo on the left with Margie:
The performances of Michael B. Jordan:
Wunmi Mosaku:
and Delroy Lindo:
garnered widespread critical acclaim, with each earning Academy Award nominations for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively!
In the above photo you can see: “Sinners” Producers L-R: Steve Taylor (Entertainment Today), Sev Ohanian, Film Supporter, Zinzi Coogler, Ryan Coogler, & Margie Rey (Entertainment Today TV Show Host). So it ended up that Ryan Coogler’s vampire movie “Sinners”, has achieved a record as the most Oscar-nominated film of all time!!!
As you can see in the above and below 2 photos: one of the presenters: Kate Hudson: the “Song Sung Blue” star turned heads in a nude slip dress adorned with silver beaded details and flower-petal inspired embellishments.
Kate was later changed into a muted pink midi dress with waterfall-inspired ruffles. The exact same night, and at about the same time as the Producers Guild Awards: Kate Hudson also was at the 16th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards at The Wiltern on February 28, 2026 in Los Angeles, California:
So we had to have our News Reporter: Doug Nolan there to cover that event, as Kate Hudson made an brief appearance there for: Song Sung Blue, the film she’s nominated for this year, which is about (in part) a Neil Diamond cover band, and I’m sure the music supervisor on it (Trygge Toven, who was nominated but lost to Gabe Hilfer, who did Marty Supreme) worked hard and she appreciated it. It’s great for A list celebs to lend their support to events celebrating their crews that work below the line! ‘Song Sung Blue’ buzzes with nominations and premieres, showcasing Hudson’s transformation and chemistry with Hugh Jackman, drawing both praise and critique.

and Jason Blum (Milestone Award)-see above story, and Mara Brock Akil (Norman Lear Award) for their achievements and contributions to the industry.

The Wizard of Oz at Sphere– WINNER:
The PGA Innovation Award was given to:The Wizard of Oz at Sphere that is a 2025 American 4D film. It is an “immersive” version of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s 1939 musical fantasy film The Wizard of Oz, created specifically to be screened at Sphere in the Las Vegas Valley on the venue’s 160,000 square-foot video screen at 16K resolution! I took the photo below of the Sphere that was taken from The High Roller Wheel, about a 1/4 of a mile away, from 550 feet up in the air:
To fit the venue’s capabilities, the film’s visuals were enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI), the musical score was re-recorded, preserving Herbert Stothart’s original 1939 compositions, and multi-sensory effects were added to immerse audiences. It is the third film to be screened at the venue under the “Sphere Experience” program, following Darren Aronofsky’s 2023 documentary Postcard from Earth and the 2024 concert film V-U2 that depicts U2’s residency at Sphere.
The photo below is of the Wicked Witch of the East, from the part of the movie when Dorothy’s house dropped on the Witch and crushed her, as you can see the Ruby Red Slippers, and legs going out from the bottom of the Sphere. The Wicked Witch of the East’s legs installed at the Las Vegas Sphere are 50 feet long. The attached iconic ruby red slippers measure 22 feet tall. These massive, inflatable replicas,, which appear to be crushed beneath the venue, are roughly 30 times larger than a standard size-6 shoe:
The Wizard of Oz at Sphere began screening on August 28, 2025, and is scheduled to run until March 31, 2026. Critics were polarized by the film, with many praising the immersive aspects but criticizing the quality of the AI-generated visuals.
I saw this movie twice in 2025, and I can confirm how great the new technology is: the video quality, AI tech, and added special effects! I especially liked the simulation of a real Tornado, that makes you feel like you are going up in the Tornado with Dorothy. They use a powerful wind turbine machine, white smoke/fog like a Tornado, and brown paper leaves blow at you! The part of the movie where the talking trees in the forest through apples at Dorothy and her friends- they simulate by dropping foam apples on you, that make great souvenirs! They even have flying Monkeys that fly right over your head, using drones! It is an amazing experience that everyone should see at least once!
