Last night at the Historic Chinese Theater in Hollywood was the movie premiere of  RIVER OF GRASS at HollyShorts Film Festival.

On this show our Entertainment Today News Team of Doug Nolan: Editor, Cameraman, and Reporter, and Pilot for our “Eye in the Sky” film footage of Hollywood, and Jacqueline Murphy: our TV Show Co-Host, and Steve Taylor: Entertainment Today TV Producer, will bring you news coverage from this great premiere movie.

It was a star-studded red carpet, with a few interviews with: Director/Actor: Derek Magyar, Writers: Jon Bloch, Chad Christopher, and Derek Magyar, Actors: Victor Webster, Dylan McTee, Darren Darnborough, Marceline Hugot, and Derek Magyar, along with Ian Anthony Dale (The Walking Dead), and Oscar Winners: Guy Nattiv, and Jamie Ray Newman!

In the below photo Jacqueline interviews Writer: Chad Christopher and Director/Actor/Writer: Derek Magyar: In the below photo Actress: Marceline Hugot poses for photos on the “River of Grass” Red Carpet:  In the below photo Jacqueline interviews Actor Dylan McTee: In Derek Magyar’s live-action short film River of Grass, set the Florida Everglades in the 1970’s, stars: Larry (Dylan McTee) as a Vietnam vet suffering with with PTSD, and returning home to his drug smuggling family after being discharged. His mother and uncle throw Larry a quiet welcome-home dinner celebration. Everyone is in good spirits except for Larry’s brother, Robert (Victor Webster), who resents his return. It appears that while daddy’s boy, Larry, was away, Robert was left to run the family camp after their father passed away. Hoping to give her son a fresh start after his return, his mother insists that Robert bring Larry into the business. What their mother doesn’t know is that after their father’s death, Robert has turned the family business into a criminal enterprise. In the below photo Chad Christopher poses for photos on the “River of Grass” Red Carpet: In this story the relationship is very rocky between Robert and Larry, since Robert thinks Larry is soft, resenting his relationship with their father, but boiling underneath Larry is the PTSD and trauma he endured in combat. As a short film, director Magyar, with the script he co-wrote with Jon Bloch and Chad Christopher, creates a dark and gritty drama that sets the stage for a much bigger story. Tone is everything, and with great performances from McTee and Webster, Magyar easily sets a brooding and cinematic tone, leaving you wanting more, which is the point of short films, and this film offers a gripping glimpse into a dark and complex family dynamic, with director Derek Magyar skillfully setting the stage for a much larger story. The tension between the brothers, coupled with Larry’s buried trauma, creates a brooding atmosphere that pulls you in. With strong performances and a gritty tone, this short film leaves you eager to see where the story could go next! Last night at the HollyShorts Film Festival in Hollywood at the historic Chinese Theater, by an amazing coincidence, after one year, I ran into a beautiful movie director again for the second time: We both had met for the first time at last year’s LA Shorts Film Festival at the Regal Theaters in Downtown LA- and our TV show’s reporters from Entertainment Today interviewed her, and partied at the after-party on opening night. There are many people, health experts, and even celebrities that are talking about the Secret to Youth: The Salmon-Sperm Facial—And How You Can Achieve Amazing Results!  Camilo Triana says: “There’s always a new beauty treatment making waves.  The latest to make a major media splash is “Salmon DNA”, or polydeoxyribonucleotide, derived from salmon sperm, after people revealed their experiences with salmon sperm injections to these new avant garde beauty treatments. The quest for youth has lead most of us to try unconventional treatments at some point in our beauty journeys. From snail mucin to activated-charcoal masks, the skincare industry is known for embracing odd ingredients. The salmon-sperm facial is more than a fad, promising remarkable benefits, boosting skin regeneration and stimulating collagen production. However, with an average cost of $500+ per session, Salmon DNA treatments are out of reach for many, but with Cotrini Skincare it is now affordable, so that you do not have to be rich to get beautiful skin, and look years younger!
